Identifying the Insect Pest Management Needs for a "New" Crop-Industrial Hemp

Please join us for a special seminar on hemp insects with Dr. Whitney Cranshaw.

In this new era of hemp production in the United States a great many things differ from when it was last produced, over 70 years ago including changes in production areas, crop products cultured - and the associated pests of the crop. Since 2014 efforts have been made to identify the insect and mite problems associated with hemp in Colorado and around the country. This will briefly survey the kinds of insects one may now find in the crop and what kinds of significant pest management issues have arisen.

The talk is free and open to the public. MDA credits will be available.
